Phlebotomists? Check! Equipment? Check! Training? Check!

The Fort Benning Blood Donor Center training coordinator, Martha Espinoza, plays a vital role in the success of the blood program. Not only does she make sure everyone is trained and competent to perform their job, she also implements exams and ensures that the proper training documentation is accessible for inspection at any given time. Thanks to Espinoza’s dedication and hard work, the Fort Benning Blood Donor Center is able to consistently provide high quality blood products to service members, veterans and their families worldwide.

“As a veteran, I feel good knowing that my job makes a difference in the lives of soldiers on the battlefield,” said Espinoza.

And according to Maj. Matt Swingholm, director of the Fort Benning Blood Donor Center, making a difference is exactly what she does.

“Since arriving at Fort Benning in 2010, Ms. Espinoza has revitalized and improved the training and competency program we had in place,” said Swingholm. “She is definitely an asset to our program.”
